CEBU CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday dismantled an alleged drug den operating in a densely-populated village here.

The anti-narcotics agents collared the 38-year-old drug den maintainer, identified as Rey-Jan Jalo-ag, during the operation on A. Lopez Street in Barangay Labangon in this city on Wednesday night.

Also apprehended were two drug den visitors, Jay B. Pateño, 31, jobless, and John Marvel Punay, 30, a construction worker.

Seized during the operation were four packs of shabu weighing around 12 grams with an estimated average value of PHP81,600, two empty sachets with residue of shabu, three used rolled foils with a residue of shabu, buy-bust money, and various drug paraphernalia.

PDEA-7 information officer Leia Alcantara said the operation was conducted after concerned citizens reported Jalo-ag’s illegal drug operation where he could dispose of 20 grams to half a kilo of shabu.

“Drug dens are breeding grounds for violence and criminality and disrupt the peace and order in the community,” Alcantara said. (PNA)
