NCR, Southern Luzon passers top March 2024 Career Service Exams

MANILA – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the list of top scorers in the Career Service Examination - Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), both Professional and Subprofessional levels, held on March 3, 2024.

A total of 57,683 individuals, or 17.20 percent, passed the exam. Of the 297,952 candidates who took the CSE Professional level, 51,311 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 17.22 percent. Additionally, 6,372 out of 37,433 individuals passed the Subprofessional level, achieving a pass rate of 17.02 percent.

"Congratulations once again to all who passed and a special commendation to the top performers. Your hard work has paid off, bringing you one step closer to joining the ranks of our 1.9 million dedicated civil servants nationwide,” CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles told the successful examinees in a news release on Friday.

Viron Gil A. Estrada from the National Capital Region (NCR) achieved the highest score in the CSE-PPT Professional level, earning a rating of 97.30 and surpassing 297,951 other candidates. Meanwhile, Mia Kimberly F. Noche from Southern Luzon led the Subprofessional level with a top rating of 97.24.

Rounding out the list of top passers for the Professional level are Micah Angelo R. Bacani (NCR) and Duke Donald R. Cotoco (NCR), both with a rating of 97.26; Kristine Kyla M. Catajay (Soccsksargen) with 97.21; Andrei Josef A. Policarpio (NCR) with 97.12; Jose P. Robredo (NCR) with 97.07; Aubrey Camille J. Perez (NCR) with 97.03; Norlyn Ann T. Villarin (NCR) with 96.89; Aron S. Guese (NCR) with 96.83; and Zarah Greycielle T. Cruz (Central Luzon) with 96.79.

At the Subprofessional level, Noche is followed by Jacqueline D. Corral (Bicol Region) with a rating of 96.87; Joanalyn S. Constantino (NCR) with 96.63; Elaine Grace Templa (NCR) with 96.58; Arrel Keight R. Diamse (Central Luzon) with 96.18; Niccole Benesha R. Santos (NCR) with 96.12; Danah Arella D. Mateo (NCR) with 96.05; Angelic Shayne I. Salmingo (Western Visayas) with 96.03; Mheree Adelaide M. Flores (NCR) with 96.01; and both Benjamin Carlo A. Garcia (NCR) and Marcus J. Salvo (NCR) with a rating of 95.97.

Regarding regional performance, Southern Tagalog achieved the highest passing rate at 23.36 percent, with 9,473 passers out of 40,549 examinees for both levels of the CSE-PPT. The NCR followed closely with a 23.30 percent passing rate, or 12,690 passers out of 54,468 examinees. Other top-performing regions included Central Luzon with a 23.12 percent passing rate, Cagayan Valley with 19.26 percent, and the Cordillera Administrative Region with 18.23 percent.

The complete list of successful examinees of the March 3, 2024 CSE-PPT may be accessed at the CSC website at csc.gov.ph.

Exam takers, both successful and unsuccessful, may generate their rating through the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System, which can also be accessed via the CSC website. Passers are advised to communicate with the CSC Regional Office concerned for the requirements and procedures in claiming their Certification of Eligibility.

Examinees who passed the CSE Professional Level are granted the Career Service Professional Eligibility. This eligibility is required for permanent appointments to both first-level (clerical) and second-level (technical) positions in the career service, provided these positions do not involve the practice of a profession and are not governed by the Bar, board, or other laws.

The Career Service Subprofessional Eligibility shall be appropriate to first-level positions only.

The CSC reminds applicants that eligibility alone does not guarantee an appointment in government service. Candidates must also meet the education, experience, training, and other competency requirements of the positions. (PR)
