MANILA – University of Santo Tomas’ Patricia Mae Santor added one more gold medal to her collection after winning the 100-meter freestyle in the girls' 16-under of the Congress of Philippine Aquatics (COPA) National Capital Region One For All-All For One tournament at Teofilo Ildefonso Swimming Center in Malate, Manila on Saturday.
The 16-year-old member of the Ilustre East Swimming Club (IESC) clocked one minute and 04.16 seconds to beat Savinnah Oliveros of Flying Lampasot (1:04.29) and Jhoey Gallardo of Coack King Club (1:06.99).
Santor won the 400m individual medley (5:21.84), 200m freestyle (2:18.47), 100m butterfly (1:06.89) and 400m medley relay (4:56.87), and finished second in the 100m breaststroke on Friday.
Antipolo City's Kristoff Daniel David, also representing IESC, ruled the 50m backstroke event (29.22 seconds) over Kiko Mirasol of Betta Team (30.86) and Janne Simeon of Flying Lampasot (31.74) in the boys' 17-under.
It was David's second gold medal after claiming victory in the 400m individual medley (5:09.03).
“We have a good preparation. Not too loaded in training so they're always in condition. The Palarong Pambansa is already programmed, then national tryouts that we really target to get slots for the Philippine team," national coach Ramil Ilustre said.
Aishel Evangelista (boys’ 14-yrs 100m freestyle), Raven Alcoseba (girls’ 18-over 50m back) and Von Andrei Pinon (boys' 12-yrs 50m back and 100m free) were the other winners in the three-day meet sanctioned by the Philippine Aquatics, Inc. and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission. (PNA)
