MANILA – The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Thursday changed its logo to symbolize its commitment to a more efficient delivery and dissemination of news and information to the public.

The new logo of the PCO, which is the lead communications arm of the government, showcases the Philippine flag's sun and three stars symbolizing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, a quill pen symbolizing communication, and lightning to represent faster news delivery.

PCO Secretary Cheloy Garafil earlier vowed that under her watch, her office will be "transparent and accurate" in delivering and disseminating information on the Marcos administration's policies, programs, activities and accomplishments.

Garafil said the PCO will continue to boost efforts to inform and communicate to a broader public what the Marcos administration seeks to achieve in the months ahead.

She also assured that her office would uphold free speech and expression, as she acknowledged the Philippine press' crucial role in strengthening Philippine democracy.

Garafil worked as a journalist for over a decade. She also worked as a media officer of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. (PNA)
