CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A male elderly suspect wanted for illegal recruitment and estafa in Manila was nabbed in Angono, Rizal on Sunday.

Col. Felipe Maraggun, director of the Rizal Provincial Police Office (RPPO), reported on Monday that the 61-year-old suspect, identified only as “Lardo,” was the No. 8 most wanted person in the province prior to his arrest.

Lardo had a standing arrest warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court in Manila for illegal recruitment and estafa.

The RPPO news release said the suspect preyed on job seekers with employment and business opportunities.

“This is to remind the public to become vigilant and alert in trusting strangers offering something without proper legal documents,” he said.

The accused is currently under the custody of the Angono Custodial Facility while the court is being informed about his arrest. (PNA)
