MANILA – Buses and trucks will be prohibited from using the U-turn slot under the Quezon Avenue flyover, both northbound and southbound, starting June 22.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the closure of the U-turn slot is to give way to the installation of scaffolding under the flyover which will limit the vertical clearance to 2.5 meters only.

Only light vehicles are allowed but buses, trucks, and other vehicles with height of 2.50 meters cannot pass, the MMDA said in an advisory Wednesday,

The activity is part of the Department of Public Works and Highways' ongoing project of retrofitting and strengthening of permanent bridges, including the flyover.

The retrofitting work is expected to be completed by Aug. 4.

Affected buses and trucks are advised to take the following alternate routes:
From EDSA southbound:
- Left turn to Quezon Ave.
- Left at Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago Ave. (formerly Agham Road)
- Left at North Ave.
- To Mindanao Ave. or EDSA
- To destination
From EDSA northbound:
- Straight towards North Ave.
- Take a U-turn infront of Quezon City Academy
- To destination (PNA)
