DFA logs no new cases among overseas Pinoys on April 10

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) did not receive reports of new coronavirus cases on Saturday and logged 64 recoveries among overseas Filipinos this week.

The recovery tally is now 10,122 while active cases are pegged at 5,892. A total of 1,068 have died.

From March 28 to April 3, the DFA recorded 677 new infections and 19 new fatalities.

The highest number of new cases was logged on April 8, when the DFA reported 483 infections due to a spike in cases in a country in the Middle East. However, it did not identify the said state.

Compared to last week's percentages, the DFA said the fatalities and recoveries saw a slight decrease to 6.25 percent and 59.26 percent, respectively.

Those under treatment, meanwhile, increased to 34.49 percent.

As of posting time, there are 1,028 active cases in the Asia-Pacific region; 898 in Europe; 3,881 in the Middle East/Africa region; and 85 in the Americas. (PNA)
