MBHTE-BARMM to deploy 1K new teachers in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY – A total of 1,147 new teachers are set for deployment across the Maguindanao province, an official of the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE -BARMM) said Friday.

Lawyer Haron Miling, chief of staff of MBHTE-BARMM, said the deployment of the teachers came following their oath-taking ceremony that took place Thursday at the BARMM compound in this city.

“The recruitment and hiring process of the new teachers started since October last year,” Miling said.

The BARMM is set to celebrate its year-old anniversary later this month. Miling said the current BARMM administration is still awaiting the arrival of the budget for additional teachers needed in other parts of the region.

The Department of Education (DepEd) in Maguindanao Division 1 includes some 20 schools from the towns of Barira, Buldon, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Kabuntalan, Parang, Sultan Kudarat, Sultan Mastura, and Upi.

On the other hand, the DepEd Maguindanao Division 2 has 29 schools from the towns of Ampatuan, Buluan, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Datu Hoffer Ampatuan, Datu Montawal, Datu Paglas, Datu Piang, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Datu Unsay, Guindulungan, Mangudadatu, Mamasapano, Mamasapano, Pagalungan, Paglat, Pandag, General S.K. Pendatun, Shariff Aguak, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Sultan Sa Barongis, South Upi, Rajah Buayan, Talayan, and Talitay.

The BARMM is currently composed of nine school divisions namely, Maguindanao I and II, Marawi City, Lanao Sur I and II, Lamitan City, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. (PNA)
