BACOLOD CITY -- A total of 12 persons were arrested by agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in two separate operations in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Thursday.
PDEA-Western Visayas reported that operatives swooped down at the port area in Barangay 6, where they arrested six persons led by drug den maintainer Rhoy Traspadillo around 2 p.m.
Also apprehended were Kim Batusin, Antonio Jakosalem, Jayfred Bendecio, Jobert Señerez and Irish Joper Magpantay.
Seized were suspected shabu weighing about 15 grams and improvised tooters and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
In another operation in the same area, six others were arrested, including drug den maintainer Orlando Traspadillo Jr., Adrian Bartido, Regina Muele, Ricardo Favores Jr., Orlando Dual, and Francis Edmon Castillo.
The suspects yielded about 20 grams of suspected shabu and improvised tooters and other drug paraphernalia.
The operations were conducted by a joint team of agents from PDEA Iloilo, Negros Occidental and Capiz Provincial Offices and PDEA-Central Visayas Negros Oriental Provincial Office led by Intelligence Agent III Cornelio Espartero Jr.
The PDEA-Western Visayas said all 12 suspects will be charged for violation of Article II, Section 6 (maintenance of a drug den), Section 7 (visitors of a drug den), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and Section 12 (possession of paraphernalia for dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
