LINGAYEN, Pangasinan -- Former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go is now a Pangasinense after he was adopted as son of the province through a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and approved by Governor Amado Espino III on December 18.

“Whereas the former SAP has already imprinted a name for himself in the annals of public service for being an effective and efficient personal assistant of then Mayor, Congressman and now President Rodrigo Duterte. He continuously extended his heartfelt concerns to the country through the implementation of its programs by improving the delivery of health and medical services for the benefit of the needy patients, agriculture and food security, fire prevention and protection, sports and youth development, among others,” Provincial Resolution No. 744-2018 stated.

The resolution said the province recognizes the exceptional capability of Go in public administration to inspire every local leader in the implementation of their worthy programs and projects.

“The province of Pangasinan is honored for having a staunch partner whose efforts deserve acknowledgement from Pangasinenses in the form of being embraced into the roster of adopted sons of Pangasinan and to consider him as our own by wholeheartedly supporting him in all his endeavors, advocacies and aspirations,” it said.

Go accepted the resolution during his courtesy call to Espino in the Capitol building here on Thursday.

“Kung kayo ay masaya, mas lalong masayang-masaya ako ngayon na magkakapatid na tayo. Ang hiling ko lang sana suportahan natin ang ating tatay Digong sa kanyang laban. Iisa po ang nais nating gawin bilang kapwa Pangasinenses, yon ay ang para sa kabutihan ng bawat Pilipino (If you are happy, I am even happier that we are now brothers and sisters. My only request is for us to support our father Digong in his fight. We have one thing in common as fellow Pangasinenses and that is to do good to our fellow Filipinos),” he said.

Go also assured the Pangasinenses that he will be the “bridge” between the province and President Duterte.

“Makakaasa po kayo na patuloy akong tutulong sa Pangasinan (Be assured that I will continue to help Pangasinan),” he said.

Go had a meeting with members of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in Pangasinan, barangay officials, and representatives of various sectors in the province.

He asked officials to help the President in his advocacies against illegal drugs and corruption.

“Huwag po tayong magnakaw (We should not steal),” he said.
