SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique -- The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) “Pasundayag” (show) Fair 2018 was able to generate PHP1,189,537 from the sale of various local products during the first six days of its opening.

Most of the customers were visitors from other provinces who came here to watch and support their athletes taking part in the National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) meet that opened on February 18.

Glen D. Fernando of DTI Antique said in an interview Thursday that the “Pasundayag”, a display and sale of local products, began on Feb. 16 in time for the holding of the SCUAA competition. It will have its last day on Feb. 25, a day after the closing of the national athletic event.

Fernando said 21 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) are taking part in the “Pasundayag”.
On display at the Robinsons Mall Antique are various food products, herbal tea, coconut shell decoratives, key chains and many more.

“For six days, since the opening of the ‘Pasundayag’ up to Feb. 21, the MSMEs were able to generate cash sales of PHP214,037 and booked orders amounting to PHP975,500,” he said.
Fernando invited other visitors to the province including officials and athletes to take time to visit the “Pasundayag” and buy souvenirs to take home after the SCUAA meet on February 24.

Thousands of student-athletes and coaches are in the city for the sports event hosted for the first time by the Antique University. (PNA)
